Vote for Schools November 6th

Seattle Education Association Building Representatives voted to recommend the following Seattle School Board Candidates.

District #1: Peter Maier

District #2: Sherry Carr

District #3: Harium Martin-Morris

District #6: Maria Ramirez

The following were recommended for city council by the SEA Building Representatives on Monday, September 24, 2007;

Seattle City Council Position #1: Joe Szwaja

Seattle City Council Position #5: Tom Rasmussen

Seattle City Council Position #3: Venus Velázquez

Seattle City Council Position #7: No Position

The recommendation was made after the SEA's Educators for Public Education Committee reviewed written questionnaires completed by candidates and interviewed them. The Building Representatives considered the Committee's recommendation when they voted for these recommendations.

Simply better schools with 4204

We all know levy failures hurt our schools. This fall, we have the chance to change that. Approving the simple majority measure, Prop. 4204, is a vote for fairness. It will allow schools to approve levies by the same simple majority needed to build new parks, prisons and stadiums. You can help by reminding friends who support education that schools need our help, by downloading window placards for your car, or learning more at the Simple Majority Web site.

Come spread the support for Proposition 4204 by phone banking with the Seattle Substitutes Association on October 29th, 6-8:00 at the Seattle Education Association. Treats and camaraderie. We’ll be calling pro-education voters to remind them to VOTE. Sign up by calling SEA at 283-8443
